When I realised the Grande Punto was designed by Maserati, I knew at once I would like one! I did a bit of research and decided on the 1.4 t-jet. Then it was just a question of finding a good one. I got as far as putting a deposit on a local one, before finding out the rear suspension was shot and the MOT was dodgy.
Feb 12, 2018. #6. Just to add further weight, yes the 1.3 diesel has a chain 1.9 diesel has a belt. They are totally different engines that do not share common parts. Chain supposedly doesn’t need changing till 200,000miles but quite a few horror stories of them snapping early if not looked after.
