The M50 could be used on the go. They are less bassy than the DT770, and sound better than an unamped DT770. When amped, the DT770 makes the M50 sound muddy in comparison. 2. [deleted] • 11 yr. ago. M50 is better for on the go. Mainly because it isolates better, folds up, and is smaller in general. 1.
The device comes with its own special case or pouch, which is useful for safe transportation. has an open-back design. Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition. Grado SR80e. The device is designed in a way that allows sound to go out through the back of the ear cups, which usually have vents or perforations.
97dB/mW. Devices with a higher sound pressure level are generally louder when supplied with any given audio source. has a neodymium magnet. Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO. Sennheiser HD 600. Devices with neodymium magnets are lighter and more powerful than those which use ferrite magnets. HD6XX is a mids-centric headphone with a demure treble response. The HD58X has a more balanced sound a slightly larger soundstage. Because the HD6XX is a little more resolving, I enjoy my HD6XX for classical and some jazz. But for all other genres, I prefer the HD58X because it is more engaging. The Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO are marginally better neutral sound listening headphones than the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO thanks to their open-back design that allows them to create a much better soundstage. That being said, the closed-back design of the 770 PRO means they block more sound and leak less audio, though they still are sub-par in both these regards. The 770 PRO also have a slightly
The 990 has higher highs in particular. To me this made it sound sibilant (/ harsh) and was the main reason for the sale. It's a bit more open - the soundstage is better, but imaging is comparable from one to the other. The 880 has smoother treble and a better low end (but neither model excels here).
For gaming skip DT700, but it's better tuned. DT770 with EQ sounds bigger and more open and is good for gaming. Just for music K 371 is great, but not for gaming. HD280 Pro is great for music and gaming with EQ. EQ might need a dongle or some amp, but an Apple dongle should propably be fine.
The PRO models (DT 770 PRO, DT 880 PRO, DT 990 PRO) are designed for professional applications, e.g. in the recording studio. The edition models are made for the daily use at home on the stereo. It
I also found the 990s to sound better at lower levels while the 880s sounded better at high levels. Being a mid-centric guy, I obviously am more drawn to the 880s, but I didn't find the 990s to be mid recessed. Overall, if you're looking for a fuller sounding, larger impact and fun headphone, the 990s are better.

Biggest difference would be the closed vs. open back design. Open backs are awesome where convenience allows for it. Personally, I use open backs (HD6xx) when alone in my room, mostly for either casual or critical listening. I tend to use closed backs (DT 770) when commuting, at work and on the occasion I want to block out external noises.
weight. 250g. 254g. We consider a lower weight better because lighter devices are more comfortable to carry. A lower weight is also an advantage for home appliances, as it makes transportation easier, and for many other types of products. has a detachable cable. Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro. Sony WH-XB900N.

Also, the bass response is different, the 990 has a hump centered at about 100 Hz, so it is "punchier", while the 770 emphasizes mainly deeper bass ("thump") around 40-50 Hz. Of the two versions of the DT770 Pro, the 80 Ohm one is said to have more bass, while the 250 Ohm version (I only have that) is brighter. Quote:

The 770's are closed back and the 990's are open. This means that the 770's won't leak sound and you won't hear as much from your environment. The 990's leak (people around you will be able to hear every lyric of whatever you are listening to) and you hear everything around you unless you turn your music up. However, the 990's have much better
The headphones are also fairly lightweight for their size, but the shape of the frame does not allow any folding of the headphones. Overall, the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros are most likely the best affordable studio headphones you will find. Beyerdynamic really blew the competition out of the water with these headphones.
The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro headphones are an open-back set intended for mixing and mastering. Open vs. Closed Headphones (DT 990 vs. DT 770) Open and closed headphones provide two very different listening experiences. In the case of Beyerdynamic, the 770s in the DT series are closed, while the DT 990 Pro headphones are open.
Anyway, these are beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 ohm phones, and well used. Took some time to get used to the DT770 after having enjoyed the 990 for more than a
The DT 770 has very precise imaging, but its soundstage isn't much different than other headphones. The DT 770 has somewhat boosted bass compared to the DT 880, but unlike the DT 990, the bass isn't at all boomy from the DT 770. The DT 770's bass is tight, deep and clean. The bass is solid to 27 Hz, and still audible at 16 Hz.
The DT 880 is an improved version with semi-open earcups offering the most versatility. The DT 990 is the most updated version offering open-back ear-cups and minimal ambient noise reduction. The DT 880 is the most expensive, and the DT 770 is the cheapest. Let’s have a closer look at these gadgets.
